Project Pearls

After School Program
At Helping Land

(Feb. 21, 2016)

“My message, especially to young people is to have courage to think differently, courage to invent, to travel the unexplored path, courage to discover the impossible and to conquer the problems and succeed. These are great qualities that they must work towards. This is my message to the young people.”
-A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

It was a film watching day at Helping Land!

The whole courtyard served as a movie theater. Kids attentively and quietly watched a movie through the set-up laptop and projector. The movie title was “The Good Dinosaur.” This story was about a young dinosaur named Arlo. He was the smallest member in his family that’s why he would always feel scared almost about everything. But through his different adventures and challenges encountered, he then became brave. A “huge” thanks also to his little friend, Spot.

After the film watching was evaluation and comprehension about the movie. Each volunteer handled at least five kids and talked with them about the said film. Then it was followed by recess.

Kyle “Kulas” Jennermann of BecomingFilipino also joined us for this day as he became one of the volunteers. As some of us may know, Kulas is a Canadian  youtube sensation as well as a very popular blogger. He became well known because of his on-line and documented journey on becoming or trying to be a Filipino.  He loves the Philippines so much that ever since he went here, he never stopped travelling and wandering around the country and promoting its beauty.

Thank you to our sponsors and ever dedicated volunteers. Doing small things can really make a big difference to the life of others and sometimes, these matter the most.
