Project Pearls After School Program (July 5,2015)

“We are afraid of love because it is the only energy in the universe that man has not learned to drive at will.”
-Albert Einstein

The date is July 5, 2015 and this is the start of Project Pearls (After School Program).
After one month of pause, here we go again, back at heart of Tondo to serve these less fortunate kids who need love, care and education.
At 8 in the morning we were already at Helping Land. Today is enrolment day. We will be accomodating 100 kids that will be the official students of After School Program. Our activity started from orientation of volunteers and what we will do for today.
Volunteer shirt that costs 250 pesos were sold and given to us by Ms. Jedda. You can have it and the fund will be put at the org's budget. :) Let me know if you're interested to buy and thank you in advance. Hehe.
The kids then were gathered at the center. We pray, then sing and dance with them. ( I miss this activity!) A storytelling was then followed and it was lead by Teacher Jam. After the storytelling, we told the kids that they have to register for the After School Program. They will be given two papers that are needed by their parents to sign. We let them go home and be back at 10 a.m. with their parents for the orientation and registration.
After the registration, the kids will make a profile of themselves on a bond paper stating their name, age, grade level and their future goal in an artistic form. A jollibee meal was sponsored and it was for their meryenda. Thank you dearest sponsors! That even us volunteers had something to eat too. :) At past 11 am we were done.

We had again a class picture before going home.
It was a very tiring day but then we enjoyed it as usual.

For me, being a volunteer is a way of serving God. As long as you love what you do and its for mankind then its a beauty in God's eyes. :) Serve God. Share. Be a blessing. Advocate. Be a volunteer. Let's support Project Pearls. :) www.projectpearls.org
